Generally, outdoor lighting fixtures need to indicate the IP rating coefficient. Conventional led flood lights, led street lights, led ceiling lights, solar lights, etc. can reach IP65 or IP44.
The IP protection level is composed of two digits:
The first number is I: it indicates the level of the lamp from dust and preventing foreign objects from intruding.
The second number is P: it indicates the degree of airtightness of the lamp against moisture and water intrusion. The larger the number, the higher the protection level.
Definition of the first marked number (I):
0 No protection: no special protection for people or things outside
1 Prevent the intrusion of solid objects larger than 50mm: prevent the human body (such as the palm) from accidentally contacting the internal parts of the lamp. Prevent the intrusion of foreign objects of larger size (diameter greater than 50mm).
2 Prevent the intrusion of solid objects larger than 12mm: prevent human fingers from contacting the internal parts of the lamp to prevent foreign objects of medium size (12mm in diameter) from intruding.
3 Prevent the intrusion of solid objects larger than 2.5mm: prevent tools, wires or similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness larger than 2.5mm from intruding and contacting the internal parts of the lamp.
4 Prevent the intrusion of solid objects larger than 1.0mm: prevent tools, wires or similar small foreign objects with a diameter or thickness larger than 1.0mm from intruding and contacting the internal parts of the lamp.
5 Dust-proof: completely prevent the intrusion of foreign objects. Although the ingress of dust cannot be completely prevented, the amount of intrusive dust will not affect the normal operation of the lamp.
6 Dustproof: completely prevent the intrusion of foreign objects, and can completely prevent the entry of dust
The second marking number definition (P):
0 No protection: No protection
1 Prevent the intrusion of dripping water: Vertical dripping water (such as condensed water) will not cause harmful effects on the lamp.
2 It can still prevent dripping water when it is tilted 15 degrees: when the lamp is tilted from vertical to 15 degrees, the dripping water will not cause harmful effects on the lamp
3 Prevent the intrusion of sprayed water: rainproof, or prevent the water sprayed in the direction with an angle of less than 60 degrees from the vertical from entering the lamp and causing damage.
4 Prevent splashing water intrusion: Prevent splashing water from all directions from entering the lamp and causing damage.
5 Prevent the intrusion of sprayed water: prevent the water from the nozzle from all directions from entering the lamp and causing damage.
6 Prevent the intrusion of large waves: the lamps installed on the deck can prevent damage caused by the invasion of large waves.
7 Prevent water intrusion when immersed in water: The lamps are immersed in water for a certain period of time or the water pressure is below a certain standard to ensure that no damage is caused by water ingress.
8 Prevent water intrusion during sinking: The lamp will sink indefinitely under the specified water pressure to ensure that it will not be damaged due to water ingress.
